구글의 새로운 메시징 앱 알로(Allo)와 화상 통신 앱 듀오(Duo) 중 (종단 간 암호화 - E2E - 를 지원하다고 해서 관심을 갖고 구글 플레이 스토어에 사전 등록만 해두고 써보지는 못한) 알로는 정식으로 나오기 전부터 욕 먹고 있다고 하는데, 이 듀오는 미국 태평양 표준시(PST) 기준 오전 다섯 시(한국 시간보다는 열 여섯 시간 정도 늦으니 한국 시간으로는 오늘 밤 아홉 시)부터 구글 플레이 스토어를 통해 설치할 수 있다는군요. 이른바 롤 아웃 방식이라 한국 사용자들이 써보려면 시간이 좀 지나야 할 듯합니다. 그 기능이 어떤지는 실제로 써보아야 알 수 있겠죠.

Duo along with its partner app Allo have however drawn a lot of criticism even before launch, as many users feel that the apps send a convoluted message given Google’s fondness for creating new and additional messaging apps. The situation has not been assuaged as it became apparent that Hangouts and Messenger will remain separate apps and that there will be no cross-app messaging, Google Voice or SMS support.
